Mass Intentions, Community Mass, Sanctuary Lamp and Memorial Society Bookings

Welcome to our new online Mass intentions, Community Mass, Sanctuary Lamp and Memorial Society reservations page. To request an intention, simply complete and submit the Mass Intention Request Form below. On the next page select the available date(s) you wish to reserve. Fill in the name of the person or persons for whom the Mass is being offered, as well as the requester’s name. An email will be sent to you to confirm your reservation.

Types of Intentions

Regular Mass

All our Masses may be offered for one person / a group of people or a special intention. The regular offering for a Mass intention is set by the Diocese at $15. A Mass card may be provided for those who request it for an additional $2.

Diocese guidelines allow our parish to take one Mass intention on Mondays and two intentions per Mass from Wednesday to Sunday. There is no intention limit for the Tuesday Community Mass.

Community Mass

Due to the daily limit of Mass intentions, the parish offers a weekly Mass on Tuesday evenings at 7pm with no intention limits, called the Community Mass. There is no cost to have a name added to the Tuesday evening list and the intention can be for any reason. Names must be submitted and confirmed by the Office (either by phone or email) before Tuesday at 3pm to be included in that evening’s Mass intention list.

Sanctuary Lamp

Individuals may request that the Sanctuary Lamp be lit for one week for an intention, starting on Mondays. Only one intention is taken per week. The suggested donation is $10 per intention.

Memorial Society

Memorial Society intentions are placed on the altar and prayed for during the entire month by the priest presiding at the Mass. The names are read once per month at each weekend Mass on the second weekend of the month. The amount suggested by the Diocese is $10 per intention.

Please wait to pay until you have received confirmation by email that your request has been approved by the parish office.

Once you have received the email confirmation notification that your request has been approved, you may pay online or, if you wish to pay by cash or cheque, it can be mailed in, dropped off at the parish office. Please include your name, address, telephone number, parish envelope number (if available) as well as the intention(s) and the date(s) of the Masses that was (were) approved.

FAQ

How much does a Mass intention cost and why?

The regular offering for a Mass intention is set by the Diocese at $15 ($10 goes to the parish and $5 goes to the priest).

How many Mass intentions can I book at one time?

The on-line process allows for up to three Masses to be booked in one session. We ask that you respect this limit to leave dates available for others.

Will I get a Mass Card?

Mass cards that include the date and time of the Mass intention requested are available, but you must make the request at the same time as requesting a Mass. Cost of a card is $2 to offset the cost of printing. Once the card is ready, you will receive a call from the parish office for pick-up.

Will my intention be mentioned at Mass?

All our Mass intentions are mentioned at the Mass for which they are offered.

What if I need to change or cancel my booking after I have received the confirmation email?

To make any changes to an approved Mass intention (cancellation or change of date, for example) please call the parish office at 514-684-6488.
