This is the time for new appointments of priests in the Archdiocese and this month there is one which affects us at St Luke. Fr Franck’s first priority is his doctoral studies, and the Archbishop has kept in mind his desire to live and offer ministry near the UdeM where he is working on a doctorate. For this reason Archbishop Turcotte has reassigned him to a French unité de pastorale in Côte des Neiges, a few steps from UdeM. .

He began September 4-5 and Cardinal Turcotte has sent us Fr. Badeea, a quadrilingual priest who is bi-ritual in the Chaldean and Latin Rites. A Redemptorist responsible for youth ministry in North America, he is well known to parishioners involved in World Youth Day.

Fr Franck and his new pastor at Notre Dame des Neiges have to cover three churches each weekend. We will plan to have Fr Franck back to say goodbye. He will have the occasion to tell us in his own words how glad he has been to be with us and his ongoing desire to do God’s will by being open to the needs of the Church in Montreal. He has expressed his confidence in the judgement of our Archbishop, who must respond to the needs of the whole Church in the Archdiocese.

Pierrefonds Comprehensive High School is hosting the Canadian Student Leadership Conference, Sept. 21- 25. This is a great conference to help the leaders of tomorrow. For more information on the conference, please see www.cslc2010.ca

PCHS is in need of the help of the parishioners to help house some of the 600 students that will be coming from across Canada. Each volunteer home will need to host at least 2 students, provide: a bed, breakfasts and one supper during their stay.
